In today’s world, with thousands of new devices connecting to the Internet every minute, the power of an Internet of opportunities is undeniable. Even amidst ongoing international political and social challenges, people and communities worldwide rely on the Internet’s transformative capabilities to connect with each other and learn from one another. While the digital landscape expands, so does the need for greater security and data privacy to help ensure a safe and sustainable connected future for all.
Now in its 11th year, the Internet Hall of Fame is proud to welcome nine new inductees whose work has laid the foundations for the Internet we know and use today. Their expertise and life-long advocacy have enabled millions of users around the world to shape the Internet, its applications and its services.
We will gather to honor these pioneers in a virtual induction ceremony on 26 September starting at 14:00 UTC. The ceremony will be a unique opportunity to reflect on how their contributions are paving the way for the Internet champions of the future.
The 2023 class of the Internet Hall of Fame features a solid group of pioneers that have worked to connect entire countries to the Internet, laid the foundations for the current file transfer applications, and developed solutions to protect the communications of all users.
